About Me

Ellie Fowler Therapies

I’m Ellie, a psychotherapeutic pluralistic counsellor, mental health nurse, and therapeutic coach based in Braintree.

I’m passionate about helping people understand themselves, heal old wounds, and feel more at home in their own lives.

My Approach

My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and human. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, I work collaboratively with you, drawing from a range of approaches including counselling in Braintree, hypnotherapy, emotional freedom technique (EFT), CBT, psychodynamic work, inner child exploration, and psychoeducation.

Whether you are looking for a therapist in Braintree, a qualified hypnotherapist, or support through face to face counselling or online sessions, we will find what genuinely supports you, at your pace.

Who I Work With

I’m especially drawn to working with people who are carrying the weight of childhood emotional neglect, low self-esteem, depression, trauma, grief, or long-standing patterns that feel hard to shift.

I also support people who want to understand their nervous system, make sense of their past, or navigate the complexities of personality-related difficulties.

My Experience

Alongside my therapeutic training, I bring many years of experience as a mental health nurse, working with adults and older people. This clinical background helps me hold a safe, grounded space, while also understanding the wider realities of mental health.

I offer both online sessions and face to face counselling in Braintree, including hypnotherapy in Braintree, allowing you to access support in a way that feels right for you.

A Bit More About Me

My own lived experience, including trauma, chronic illness, and the messy, human parts of life, deeply shapes the practitioner I am today. I have experienced both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ therapy, and these experiences continue to inform my practice.

This allows me to meet you with genuine empathy, compassion, and respect for the courage it takes to seek support.

I also volunteer as a counsellor for a carers’ charity, supporting people who give so much of themselves to others. It is a role that keeps me connected to the heart of why I do this work.

Working Together

If you’re looking for a therapist in Braintree who is real, approachable, and committed to walking alongside you at your pace, you are in the right place.
